Privacy Policy
Your family's memories are yours.
Last updated: June 28, 2026
Heirloom Lifeline™ is built on a simple belief: the people and memories you trust to us deserve to be handled with care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written to be read by real people, not just lawyers.
This policy is provided by Heirloom Lifeline LLC ("Heirloom Lifeline," "we," "us," or "our"). It applies to our website at heirloomlifeline.com and, once it is available, the Heirloom Lifeline mobile and web application (the "App"). Sections that apply only to the App are clearly marked.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run the waitlist today and the App in the future.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
- The memories you create — recordings, photos, stories, and letters — belong to you.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time.
Information we collect
When you join the early-access list (today)
- Your name and email address, which you provide on our sign-up form.
- An optional note about who you are caring for, if you choose to share it.
- Basic technical information that most websites receive automatically, such as your device type, browser, and general location inferred from your IP address, used to keep the site secure and understand general traffic.
When you use the App (once it launches)
- Account information — such as your name, email, and the role assigned to you (for example, family member or care aide).
- Content you create or upload — voice recordings, photographs, written stories, letters, messages, important dates, and similar memories about a loved one.
- Information about the person being cared for — such as their name, photo, life details, and preferences, which family members add to build their profile.
- Usage information — such as which features are used, to keep the App working well and improve it.
How we use your information
- To operate the waitlist and let you know when early access opens.
- To provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- To transcribe voice recordings into text, when you use that feature (see "AI and transcription" below).
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To send you occasional updates about Heirloom Lifeline. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep our services secure and to meet legal obligations.
AI and transcription
When the App transcribes a voice recording into text, the audio may be processed by a trusted third-party speech-to-text and AI provider acting on our behalf. This processing is used only to produce the transcript you asked for. We do not use your recordings, photos, letters, or other personal content to train artificial-intelligence models, and we instruct our providers not to use it for their own purposes. Any AI features assist family members and caregivers — they never speak to, or stand in for, the person living with dementia.
How we share information
We share information only in these limited ways:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run Heirloom Lifeline — for example, website and app hosting, data storage, transcription, email delivery, and (in the future) payment processing — may handle information on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it. A current list of these providers is available on request.
- Within your care circle (App only). Content is shared with the family members and caregivers you or your administrator have invited, according to the roles and visibility settings you choose. Some items can be marked private so that only you can see them.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
- Business changes. If Heirloom Lifeline is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you of any change in who controls your information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Your responsibilities for others' information (App only)
Heirloom Lifeline is designed to hold memories about a loved one and to be shared within a trusted family-and-caregiver circle. When you add information about another person — including the person being cared for, family members, or aides — you confirm that you have the appropriate authority or consent to do so. Please add only content you have the right to share.
How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your waitlist entry or account is active, or as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. When you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to keep it. The memories you create are yours — the App is being built so that your family can keep them, including in a printed Legacy Book.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to those who need it to do their jobs.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can ask us for a copy of your information or to correct it.
- Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information.
- Unsubscribe. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example, residents of California and certain other U.S. states have rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the sharing of their personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make any request, email hello@heirloomlifeline.com and we will respond as required by law.
Children's privacy
Heirloom Lifeline is intended for adults. Our website and App are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Memories about a person of any age are added by the adults in their care circle.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of our website or App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
